A STRONG EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Theresa Cullen, Au.D, is the owner and president of Cape Cod Hearing Center. She was drawn to the profession of audiology because she has found working and helping people overcome hearing loss and improving their quality of life extremely rewarding. As the Cape’s first Doctor of Audiology, she has used her advanced training to help thousands of patients over her 30 plus years as an audiologist. She worked in a private practice in her home state of Michigan for 5 years before moving to Cape Cod and working in her own practice since 1990. She has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Audiology and has been featured in Cape Business. “I will take all the time necessary to properly evaluate you and to understand your lifestyle so that I can make a proper recommendation.

Melanie Higgins, MS, CCC-A

Audiologist

Melanie is an Audiologist licensed in the state of Massachusetts. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. She received her Master of Science in Audiology from Rush University. Melanie has her Certification of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology. Melanie is motivated by helping others and positively impacting individuals with their hearing needs. She is specifically interested in individual patient rehabilitation through hearing aids and other assistive technologies. Melanie’s experience in the field of audiology and auditory (re)habilitation includes private practice, as well as extensive diagnostic experience working with Ear Nose and Throat specialists.

She has presented locally and nationally on the topic of hearing loss. She has knowledge and skills in hearing instruments, hearing assistive technology, aural habilitation and rehabilitation, and diagnostic audiology for pediatric, adult, and senior patients. She is known as a warm, compassionate, thorough, and resourceful hearing healthcare professional. “My goal is to improve the quality of my patients’ lives through better hearing. I am committed to providing them with advanced, reliable and convenient services for treating hearing loss. And a key part of my care is taking the time to listen to my patients’ needs, answer their questions and thoroughly explain all of their options.”

Allow me to further introduce myself. Richard joined Dr. Frank Scaccia in early part of 1999 as his Audiologist which was a perfect fit to Dr. Scaccia’s ENT Ear, Nose, and Throat practice. Together we have set high standards in treatment and care of our mutual Ear troubled patients and with integrity. As a team we have moved higher in our ability to care for our patients.

Richard is a licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser in the state of New Jersey and now Massachusetts with over 35 years of experience. Awarded a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in speech and audiology respectively. My Certification as been granted by the American Speech – Language – Hearing Association (ASHA). I continue to receive continuing education credits by attending symposiums and seminars to learn and study some of the latest and newest techniques concerning the hearing health care industry. Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of hearing enables me to handle almost any patient’s situation and provide my patients with realistic outcomes and expectations. I treat each patient with respect and courtesy and take time to provide a caring service while explaining every aspect as we move forward of his or her hearing dilemma or issue simply and completely.
